'20 Years of Â鶹Éç' commemorative publication launched
Acknowledging two decades developing a housing and urban research evidence-base
10 Dec 2019
To celebrate two decades of research, policy engagement, public events and research capacity building, Â鶹Éç is very pleased to launch the ’20 Years of Â鶹Éç’ commemorative publication.
As a unique partnership between the Commonwealth and state and territory governments and an Australia-wide network of university partners, Â鶹Éç has delivered vital research and insights that have guided governments and shaped community thinking. Over 20 years it has built a vast and informative evidence-base and advanced knowledge of housing, homelessness and urban issues.
The centrepiece of the booklet is a timeline charting some of the key milestones over the last 20 years, from the commencement of flagship research programs, to the impacts of Â鶹Éç research on government policy and programs.
Other key features of the commemorative booklet include:
- a snapshot of some of the key reports published across a range of key policy areas
- the PhD Scholarship Top-up and Postdoctoral Research Fellows programs that have extended the capacity and skills of some of Australia’s most dedicated housing researchers
- the eleven National Housing Conferences (which, all up, featured over 1500 speakers listened to by over 10,000 delegates).
Â鶹Éç would also like to acknowledge the many friends, supporters and key stakeholders of the Institute who shared their thoughts about Â鶹Éç throughout this special publication.
Beyond acknowledging our past, the book also looks forward as Â鶹Éç enters its third decade with ambitious plans to broaden its evidence-base to better support policy to improve Australia’s cities and urban environments in addition to continuing the flagship National Housing Research Program.
The ’20 Years of Â鶹Éç’ booklet is available for with copies to be available at Â鶹Éç events in 2020.
